Victoria Reece
Victoria Reece does not remember a time when art was not a major part of her life. "I believed from an early age that it was possible for me to pursue my own artistic gifts if I chose," says Reece. Beginning in 1974, she began taking an occasional oil painting class while raising small children and helping her first husband on their grain farm (driving a harvester and trucks). "Although I am a late bloomer, I believe all of my life's challenges have helped me gain the sensitivity to paint the way I do" says Reece. She has studied with such wellknown names as Joseph Mendez, Ovanes Berberian (her color mentor) and Sonny Apinchapong. In 1995, she traveled to Russia with some of America's finest artists to visit a classical school called The Repin Institute. While there they studied classical realists and impressionists.
